Recent DSEA Legislative Accomplishments:

• 12 weeks of paid parental leave
• Direct funding to hire more school based mental health professionals in our middle and elementary schools
• Time and workload protections for required state mandates
• $15 million increase to school building maintenance funds to ensure school buildings are safe and healthy to learn and work in
• Development of building maintenance and air quality standards in our public schools
• Secured 2% base salary increase for all educational employees as well as $500 salary supplement
• Established the public education compensation committee to significantly increase salaries for all educators by 2024
